Thôt is the first of the embodied concepts to join Neith. Deity of the intelligence, the being often represented with the head of an Ibis, invented science, writing and a little magic.
Without intelligence there is nothing to understand, and there would be little point in writing, since intelligence is precisely the ability to read, or interpret, between the lines!

Thôt is imagination and reflection, the things that are happening in the head. Like Seshat of which he is the husband, it is an incarnate concept. His field of expertise, the intellect, is the main subject of writing.
By taking charge of what is scientific and mathematical, he inspires what Egypt imagines, discovers and realizes. Its secondary fields are medicine, cybernetics and communication.
