Sister and wife of Osiris, Isis is the pedestal, the pillar and the seat, one of the meanings of her name, of the great virtues, which is felt in her symbol, the throne placed on her head.
This characteristic, rather simple form was used in linear, to represent or evoke Isis. It is thus frequently found in royal cartouches, its presence ensuring that the Queen or King mentioned is indeed of divine descent.

There is not one story of Isis, but thousands. Most of them highlight her heroism to fight against Seth, to find the pieces of Osiris, 14, 23 or 42 depending on the source, to immerse herself in them to give birth to Horus in secret.
She fights for her son to overcome Seth’s dangers and traps to finally reign peacefully over the realm of the living.
Isis is doubly sovereign: she is the Queen Mother of the living with her son Horus and combines the role of royal wife of Osiris, goddess of the dead.
